Primary Recruitment

Recruitment Process

Primary Recruitment is a formal, weeklong process held each fall where potential new members (PNMs) meet the 7 NPC sororities at the U. It’s a values-based, mutual selection process where PNMs learn about each chapter's values and activities.

Recruitment Counselors

“Rho Gamma” is the Greek name chosen by the University of Utah for recruitment guides. Rho Gammas are members of sororities selected by the Panhellenic Council who temporarily disaffiliate from their own chapter during the recruitment period to serve as an unbiased guide. Rho Gammas assist potential new members (PNMs) in navigating the recruitment rounds and provide insight without influencing their decision. They are there to offer support, listen, and give non-biased advice. My experience as a Rho Gamma last year was absolutely amazing. It was one of the most rewarding roles I have ever had and I cannot wait to lead the next set of amazing Rho Gammas through recruitment this year!

Values-Based & Mutual Selection

By values-based, we mean that each chapter is looking for women who uphold their organizational values and have similar ideals and beliefs. We also mean that you should expect for conversations to focus on what is truly important to you and makes you unique.

By mutual selection, we mean that both organizations and potential new members have a say in this process. It is never solely the chapters’ decision on who to invite to be members. It also isn’t fully the choice of PNM’s. Together, chapters and PNMs are working to find the best fit for everyone.
