Informal Recruitment

What is “COB”

Spring Recruitment, or Continuous Open Bidding (COB), is a less formal, mutual-selection process. The College Panhellenic Council hosts a sorority fair, but chapters manage their own recruitment events. Not all sororities may be able to recruit in the spring, so fall recruitment offers the best opportunities.

Follow @uofusororities and each chapter’s individual instagrams for more information about spring recruitment.

Where to Start?

Individual chapters will post on their instagram accounts if they are participating in the Continuous Open Bidding process, interest forms, and events they’re holding, it is up to you to choose which events you attend. Registration is not required for Spring COB.

Eligibility

Students looking to participate in informal recruitment must meet these requirements:

  • Enrolled as a full time student (12 credit hours)

  • Has not signed a MRABA in the last 12 months

If you are offered a bid…

If you are offered a bid during the COB process, you can either accept or decline the bid. If you choose to decline the bid you can still continue with the COB process with the other chapters, or you can stop the COB process.
